Tantive IV hit by turbolaser bolt

I'll assume the smaller ship (Tantive IV) is 7 feet long. The radius of the biggest blast is about 2 feet, so the explosive yield of the bolt is (very roughly) 10g minimum (or 41840 joules). [1]

Okay, you don't like that answer. I'll try again, using the vaporization of the Tantive IV's armor (not melting, as we see vapor). The energy required to vaporize 1 kg of iron is about 763000 joules [2]—almost as powerful as turbolasers get.
