Could the Black Arrow Actually Kill a Dragon?
We get a quick glimpse of the Black Arrow in The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug. How fast is the arrow? Would it kill a dragon? Video analysis included.

Here, a WIRED.com physicist estimates the speed of the Black Arrow at 14 m/s, or 31.31711 mph. Way too slow.
