Andúril came down upon his helm. There was a flash like flame and the helm burst asunder. The orc fell with cloven head.

The shear strength of iron is 20 J/cc.
Medieval helmets were about 0.2 cm thick. 0.0143 cm in RW figures, I think.
The cut is therefore probably 0.0143 x 0.02143 x 4 = ~0.001226 cc

0.001226 x 20 = 0.02452
Mouse level

Plus the orc's skull, which we'll just assume is double the volume of the helmet.

0.001226 x 51.6 x 2 = ~ 0.1265
Supermouse level

0.02452 + 0.1265 = 0.15102

This is possibly a slight underestimation, but would the blow shatter the sword?

Fragmentation figure for Damascus steel is 814.5 J/cc.
Volume of the sword is 0.0545 cc from the previous calc.
814.5 x 0.0545 = 44.39025 Human level
No, it wouldn't.

In the calc-before-the-last one, I got 0.2552 J for a decapitation. Thranduil takes off five:
0.2552 x 5 = 1.276

Could he do it?
Sword demensions: 0.04 x 0.3 x 1.85 = 0.0222 cc
Density of steel: 7.75 g/cc
Mass of the sword: 0.0222 x 7.75 = 0.17205
Speed of swing: 40 m/s ÷ 14 = ~2.857

0.17205 x 0.5 = 0.086025
2.857 x 2.857 = ~8.1624
0.086025 x 8.1624 = 0.70217046 joules (Supermouse level)

No, he probably couldn't.

The decapitation is basically the same as this one, so it's probably Supermouse level.

The impaling is more interesting. I think we can use shear strength for it as well, but I'll try compressive just in case.
Volume of the cut: 0.051 cc (3 x 0.34 x 0.05)

Compressive: 12.9 j/cc x 0.051 cc = 0.6579 j
Supermouse level

Shear (probably more accurate): 4.4 j/cc x 0.051 cc = 0.2244 j
Supermouse level

Since compressive is based on squishing or pulverization, shear is the way to go.
