How hard can Dain's hammer hit?

If we assume that the hammer's head is solid iron, then it probably weighs about 7 grams. Dain swings it at about 4 feet per second, and the impact lasts for about 0.25 seconds, so the peak impact force is 0.068 N, or 7 grams. [1] Over a distance of 0.0508 m, that's 0.0034544 J.
